Hamilton City Council defers vote on Hamilton bus network change options

Hamilton city councillors have put off a vote on in-principle support for potential bus service changes, with some seeing red flags and a potential “Trojan horse”.

Proposed ideas included a new Rototuna high frequency service, and replacing the Orbiter with a Northern Link and a Southern Link.

A staff report to Tuesday’s infrastructure and transport committee meeting sought in-principle support for possible changes to the bus network.

The report also sought a formal request for staff to report back on related infrastructure requirements, costs and timing to support changes as part of the 2027-37 long term plan.
