The historic Campbell Arcade is reopening to the public today Monday July 28th. It’s another important milestone as we get closer to opening the Metro Tunnel later this year.
The works sure look great it is am amazing little place with a major connection to a building closed but the arcade itself is a treat. Before closure I frequented a records store in their buying up classics after work. As a young kid and on travels with my Grandmother, i remember favourably the times she would use the telephones in the arcade to call home or elsewhere.

This is great glad they did not trash the arcade like so many other locations, might try and get a look later today. The library station is planning to have a connection with Melbourne Central station.
Do we know if parkville will have a direct connection to the hospital either Peter Mac or the Melbourne general?
If only there were other connections between stations and major shopping areas we need this in Melbourne.
Will make sure to take a look later in the week when I come up to Melbourne.
On closer inspection there have been changes and they are about blocking off other routes and also reducing the size of a row of shops, You need to see behind the Jacinta bull.
The project has closed a major entry point for the arcade and subway from Platform 1 at Flinders Street. Once a very busy and direct way to access the subway from Platform 1, this has been removed now and a lift installed that will see very little use. Tuesday of this week I tried to access the arcade and noted this change. Many looking for the well used route only to find it permanently closed.
