New station platforms in the $15bn Metro Tunnel that were designed to allow wheelchair access do not line up with the height of train floors, with a leading disability group slamming the “demoralising” blunder.
5cms is quite a large amount what is the acceptable tolerance for such a platform in todays standards?
Wheel wear can affect the height of a rail wagon or passenger rolling stock.
5mm I could understand by 5cm metres is what I would have thought quite a big deal. Are there instances across the current network where 5CM is the difference between the CAR and the platform on either the metro network or V/line?
Simply approach to lower the track slightly or raise it slightly depending on which way the gap runs.
Probably lowering given the image on the news item.
Does CEO & team in charge of SRL have understanding of building the platforms on the newer station with the accordance of measurements & dimensions of the “Rolling stock outline” of the trains using it?🫣
How can this happen?
Is the engineers familiar of this? Is there any local engineers way and works that are familiar with VicRail Conditions or have the all being outsourced from other countries?
It will cost lot to rectify why do the operator send the bill to the consultants and team personal bank accounts overseeing the blown out project instead hitting tax payers with it?
They stuffed it so the engineers or people overseeing this blunder can foot the bill to fix it, no the tax payers!!!
