Fire Rescue Victoria has advised 80 workers were evacuated last evening from the Victorian Government’s signature rail construction project site, the Metro Tunnel following a polystyrene fire inside the site near Town Hall this evening.
The fire believed to have been small in size created a substantial amount of smoke and has been extingushed.
The tunnel work is continuing towards a grand opening of the rail project in 2025.
