Buses travelling on Melbourne’s first high-speed busway will be limited to just 60km/h in some sections — meaning commuters could face even longer travel times into the city after the $250m project opens.
This should not surprise anyone in Melbourne as the Department of Transport are completely clueless on how to manage projects and undertake real and important transport planning.
This of course refers to the new Doncaster Bus Route costing 1/4 of a $billion dollars. Victorian’s wanted a train to Doncaster from the city now we have a slow bus.
Another quality project designed and delivered in Victoria.
How could this happen the engineers would or should have been solving for a faster transit time. It will be a safety issue and that is why rail would have been a much better option for the link.
Difficult to believe this is possible but when you have an incompetent premier and N especially incompetent transport planning department things just don’t work or cost more than they need or they are projects that should never have been undertaken.
A train yes was the only real
Answer.
Doesn’t this really summarise how broken Victorian Transport planning is and how incompetent Victoria is at building anything. It is either poorly designed from the beginning or overpriced or both.
A train was probably the only real option and that has now been wasted.
