A new “Crusaders Express” train service will run from Rolleston or Rangiora to the new Christchurch stadium.
The service starts April 24, starting from Rolleston for the Crusaders vs Waratahs match. Alternates between Rolleston and Rangiora for four home games.
Drops passengers at a temporary ramp at Pilgrim Place, about 1 km from One New Zealand Stadium.
The “Crusaders Express” train will features themed carriages and a social, game‑day atmosphere. as a Joint initiative by Crusaders, 2 Degrees, and Mainland Rail.

The “Crusaders Express” train aim is to enhance match‑day experience, reduce car traffic and ease CBD congestion and demonstrate the potential for commuter rail in Canterbury.
Mainland Rail plans for more rail services for major events and wider regional use.
The Christchurch City Council contributed $51,000 from the Capital Endowment Fund for temporary access infrastructure, which will include lightweight mobility devices.
Mainland Rail is still working with the council on a permanent or temporary platform at Moorhouse Ave/Colombo Street.
