The state government will spend more than $700m to facilitate ‘turn up and go’ train services once the $15bn Metro Tunnel opens. But not all train lines will benefit from the cash.
A lack of rolling stock and overcrowding was affecting Swan Hill line at 05:40 as it was reduced from Loco Haul to VLocity 3×1 to Bendigo and Bus to Swan Hill 07:40.
The Bluebell Railway has reported that its coach Maunsell ‘Hastings’ Brake 3rd No 3687 is ready for traffic, and will enter service on Saturday 31 May.
