On Saturday, 18th April, UK Railtours is running a special train, The Plant’, from London King’s Cross to Leeds in aid of the Railway Children charity.
In February, Chiltern Railway is to host a special train journey to bid farewell to its Mark III coaches, which date back to the era of British Rail. The trip will also raise money for the charity Railway Children.
Alstom is to open its Glasgow Traincare Centre to visitors on Sunday 12 October to celebrate the depot’s 150th anniversary. The visit will be part of a weekend railtour from Derby.
Southeastern is to run a special rail service, with an iconic Network SouthEast Networker multi-unit, to celebrate 200 years of the locomotive-hauled passenger railway.
Over the weekend, Southeastern took an adventure back through The Railway Children story at Grove Park.
