South Western Railway celebrates one year in public ownership

It is now one year since South Western Railway (SWR) entered public ownership, and in that time, 39 new trains have been added to its fleet.

Half of London Waterloo Station will close this weekend, as engineering works take place between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction

There will be changes to train services in the Kingston area of southwest London next month because of essential engineering work.

On 4th and 5th of May, train services in Hampshire through the Basingstoke area will be severely disrupted because of essential engineering work.

Another 47 stations in the South East will implement contactless pay-as-you-go technology for train travel from the end of September.

A major project to replace and update outdated signalling between Feltham and Wokingham has been completed.

Level crossings at Wokingham station and Easthampstead Road (Star Lane) will be temporarily closed whilst the upgrade work takes place
