Tranpennine Route Updgrade Celebrates Volunteer Week

The Transpennine Route Upgrade is reflecting on its progress towards its goal of carrying out 25,000 hours of volunteering.

Network Rail is reminding passengers of work beginning Saturday, 7th June, which will continue for 5 weekends.

Whilst Transpennine Route Upgrades go underway, the ramped entrances at Deighton station will be closed.

Over the weekend (17th & 18th May), engineers installed 20 pre-cast concrete beams to a new bridge in Ravensthorpe.

To allow for Transpennine Route Upgrades (TRU) to be carried out, services will be impacted.

Work to raise and renovate the Crawshaw Woods Bridge has now begun.

TransPennine Express (TPE) is upgrading its fleet of Class 185 trains with the European Train Control System (ETCS).

Calder road bridge to close in May due to TRU works

Across the May bank holiday, most of Northern’s train services will be running as normal.

Huddersfield station will be closed for 30 days later this year so that engineers can carry out work on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU).
