CIMB to secure up to US$940m in financing for U Mobile’s 5G rollout

Malaysian telco U Mobile announced on Friday it has appointed CIMB Bank to facilitate and arrange financing of up to MYR4 billion (almost US$940 million) to support the nationwide deployment of its 5G network infrastructure.

Openserve no longer for sale, says South Africa’s Telkom

South African wireline and wireless telecommunications provider Telkom has suspended plans to sell part of its fibre business, Openserve, according to a statement by CEO Serame Taukobong this week.
