Drukair Signs MoU For 3 Airbus A320neo & 2 A321XLRs At Farnborough Airshow

Drukair’s order was the first for Airbus, with the Bhutan-based carrier ordering five aircraft by signing a preliminary agreement.

The Airbus A321XLR was first certified with the CFM International LEAP-1A engines.

The aircraft is expected to enter into service later this year.

Airbus stated that certification for CFM International LEAP-1A-powered A321XLRs was “imminent.”

AirAsia X has officially launched flights to Nairobi, its first destination in mainland Africa.

Africa already has a large fleet of new-generation aircraft.

The inaugural Airbus A321XLR flight should be on the Madrid, Spain, to Boston, United States, route.

The aircraft is expected to enter into service with Iberia later this year.

With its international expansion limited by aircraft shortages AirAsia X is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Airbus A321XLR.

The aircraft is the first of 17 planes expected to receive the cabin remodel.
