Australian flag carrier, Qantas, will debut its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft on routes from Sydney and Melbourne, and Sydney and Perth by mid-September, signalling a new era for the red-tailed airline. The extended range of these airplanes, which can reach 5,400 miles (8,700 kilometers), is more than 1,860 miles (3,000 kilometers) longer than the Boeing 737, and will open doors for the airline to launch new international routes to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia.
