Boeing and Airbus are the two largest commercial aircraft manufacturers in the world. The two frequently compete against each other for almost every single commercial category, including the popular narrowbody airliner category. Historically, Boeing has had a leg up in the narrowbody category, especially with the success it has seen with the Boeing 737 series that debuted back in the late 1960s. Since then, Boeing has introduced several new series in this family, including the 737 Classic, the 737 Next Generation (NG), and, most recently, the Boeing 737 MAX series.
