American plans an average of 19 daily Heathrow departures this coming winter. Flights have fallen from the expected average of 21 daily but are at the same level as last winter. The various changes seem to reflect lower winter leisure demand, overcapacity between London and Los Angeles, and the high cost of visiting the US for Europeans nowadays. Retrofitting 777-300ERs might also be a factor.
