In the immediate wake of Spirit Airlines’ continued stretch of financial struggles, New York-based low-cost airline JetBlue (NYSE: JBLU) has attempted to capture some of this market vacuum. The airline will be expanding at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL) with its largest schedule ever, which includes peak daily departures of over 110. Nine new nonstop routes will be launched from the facility, with additional service capacity deployed on the nine existing routes.
