The Airbus A380 superjumbo is the world’s only full double-deck commercial jet and has a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) far exceeding any other aircraft in existence. It is optionally powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines or four Engine Alliance GP7200 engines (built by a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney). The A380 and Trent 900 were designed in tandem, with variants of the engine eventually being certified for up to 84,000 lbf.
