Helrom launches new service amid insolvency proceedings

Despite initiating preliminary insolvency proceedings, Helrom just launched a new connection between Düsseldorf, Germany, and Győr, Hungary. The service for semi-trailers started on 1 August and has five weekly departures.
The news was shared by Bruno Weissmann, the company’s director of sales, on LinkedIn. Neither of the two locations served are new in Helrom’s network. Düsseldorf is where Helrom has its headquarters and it is its most active destination. For Győr, on the other hand, there already are connections to Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm on behalf of Audi.

Helrom filed for preliminary insolvency proceedings about three weeks ago after an unsuccessful financing round. They initially said that they would discontinue routes that are not economically sustainable, but the launch of a new service might be a glimmer of hope. The company was contacted for more information on the situation but no answer has been provided as of yet.
