The Allan government says it will not be putting a single dollar more into the West Gate Tunnel Project, insisting it will be up to the builders and Transurban to pay any overruns. It was announced earlier in the week the cost of the project has lifted to DOUBLE what the business case was based upon.
This project should never have been undertaken the business case was clearly flawed as was the planning and the execution. The mere Idea of 45,000 additional vehicles into and out of the Melbourne CBD per day is mind boggling.

somehow I feel this will not be true. If the experience of reduced vehicle levels continues to mid year is there something in the contract which allows transurban to bill the state of business case revenue topup?
