Melbourne will continue to grow much larger to the point where many regional areas or fringe locations like melton and bacchus marsh will become just a connect part of Melbourne. Sydney has land issues no more land so Melbourne will grow and Geelong will grow faster.
Infrastructure projects requiring immediate funding are the rail line to KooWeRup for passenger and freight. New intermodal terminals in the east of the city of Melbourne to remove trucks off the roads and the M1 which is saturated with heavy vehicles.
We need upgraded regional rail services now including electrification to Geelong area, Ballarat and Ballarat to Geelong where almost the population of Canberra now lives.
We bigger investment in rail on the northern corridor including the Seymour line with Wallan trains being upgraded. Donnybrook is still a regional service making it a joke.
