Most of the CV-22 Ospreys that will be built have been built. The CV-22 Osprey has been in service for almost 20 years, and the US Marines and other services are focusing more on sustaining and maintaining their fleets (planning to keep them in service for 30+ more years). However, as the Army’s Bell V-280 Valor nears serial production, questions are being raised about whether the Valor (or other aircraft) could replace the Osprey. This article focuses on the Marine Corps as it is by far the largest operator of the Osprey.

On June 10th, a Boeing 737-800 belonging to a Lithuanian charter airline experienced some minor damage when it suddenly tipped backward as passengers were deplaning and cargo was being unloaded. No injuries were reported and the aircraft appears to have been flown to a maintenance facility. This isn’t the first time we’ve covered this type of occurrence but it certainly is a rarity.
