GE Aerospace Will Support USAF Boeing 747-8 Survivable Airborne Operations Center

GE will overhaul the engines of the used Boeing 747-8 aircraft SNC has purchased to build the new Doomsday planes.

Lockheed Martin has finally delivered the 1,000th F-35 after assembling the 1,000th F-35 in January.

The aircraft is capable of high-altitude, long-endurance ISR missions.

Boeing is building the Air Force’s fleet of aerial tankers and has signed a new contract for further upgrades.

Two of these continue to serve in the military for nearly five decades.

The list includes a former president of the United States.

The venerable EC-130Hs have served the Air Force for decades and are now being retired in favor of smaller, sleeker electronic warfare aircraft.

In the 1990s, the United States sought out a new generation of fighter jets. Boeing’s X-32 was one of the proposed designs.

Despite sharing the airframe, the two aircraft have different missions and functionalities.

The USAF has been operating the type for four decades.
