As part of Birmingham Heritage Week ballot, several people on tickets to be able to walk the 400 metre long tunnel which connects the Mailbox to Birmingham New Street.
Avon Valley Railway is to celebrate the bi-centennial anniversary of the modern railway by hosting a weekend of family entertainment and an intensive timetable of heritage diesel and steam trains on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September.
Southeastern is to run a special rail service, with an iconic Network SouthEast Networker multi-unit, to celebrate 200 years of the locomotive-hauled passenger railway.
The Railway 200 ‘Inspiration’ train has been to numerous locations this month, including The Greatest Gathering as its first stop of the month and ending the month at the National Railway Museum in York.
On the 24th August, Southeastern is inviting families and rail fans to get a glimpse behind Ashford’s Train Maintenance Depot as part of their Railway 200 celebrations.
