The National Railway Heritage Awards have declared the restoration of Richmond station in South West London the winner of their Railway Heritage Trust Conservation Award.
Significant disruption and repairs costing over three-quarters of a million pounds have been caused by increasing cable thefts along the South Wales Valley network.
