Civil works completed on HS2’s first ‘green’ tunnel

High-speed rail project HS2 has revealed its first completed ‘cut and cover’ tunnel at a site on the western edge of London.

HS2’s Colne Valley viaduct is now officially the UK’s longest railway bridge after the completion of civil engineering works.

The Colne Valley Railway has a released tickets for its final event of this year – a high-speed train (HST) day.

With HS2 soon to undergo a fundamental reset, it has assessed its achievements in 2025.
