Moira Deeming Wins Court Delay on Liberal Disendorsement

On July 3, 2026, the Victorian Supreme Court granted Deeming an injunction against state president Brian Loughnane, halting a vote to strip her endorsement for November’s election until a July 17 hearing.

The dispute arose after Deeming refused to apologize to MP Matthew Guy over her claim he grabbed her in a headlock at a June gala—police found no offence—echoing her past party expulsion for attending a rally later cleared in court.

As Victorian Liberals grapple with this ‘circus,’ One Nation leads polls at 23-27%, splitting the right-wing vote while the Coalition holds a 53-55% two-party lead over Labor.
