Southwest Airlines plays an important role in Florida travel. The US Department of Transportation shows that it carried 29.4 million passengers to, from, and within the Sunshine State in the 12 months to February 2026. It was the third-largest operator and had 14% of the huge market. One in six of the airline’s total passengers touched the state.
