Southwest Airlines Jets Hit Each Other In Non-ATC Communication Area At Baltimore Airport

An incident at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) has seen two Southwest Airlines aircraft clip each other as they were leaving the gate on Monday. The two aircraft, which were attempting to depart for flights to Hartford and Houston, backed into each other, causing minor damage to the planes’ wingtips. Following the occurance, both aircraft were removed from service, and passengers were reaccommodated onto alternative aircraft.
