Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) has increasingly been used by the Department of Homeland Security as a hub for facilitating deportation. This comes at a time when the current President is cracking down hard and aggressively on illegal immigration. In a report by Arizona Family, the information obtained has seen the number of deportations out of Mesa increase to 5,800 individuals alone in 2025.
