The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-seat, highly versatile multi-role fighter jet that first entered service in 1978. It was originally developed for the United States Air Force. While originally conceived as an air superiority dogfighter, the light F-16 has been drastically transformed to now serve a variety of different roles.
