A bipartisan group of senators wants to limit the use of facial technologies for non-TSA PreCheck passengers, citing concerns about privacy and civil liberties. Already in operation at 84 airports across the country, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is planning on establishing additional facial recognition technology at up to 430 airports across the country, where passengers can insert their driver’s license and then look into the camera which confirms the traveler matches their ID.
