The Royal Air Force (RAF) has a total of around 30 active bases, including overseas Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOBs). There are four RAF airfields in British Overseas Territories; namely, RAF Akrotiri (Cyprus), Ascension Island, Mount Pleasant (Falkland Islands), and RAF Gibraltar.
