Recently, the US Air Force (USAF) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) conducted a simulated real air dogfight against a human pilot versus artificial intelligence. Although the end results are classified, this shows the advancement of efforts to advance computers in aviation to create Collaborative Combat Aircraft, or CCA serving as an uncrewed, semi-autonomous escort aircraft.
