What is more exciting than a long-haul route? One operated by an increasingly uncommon, four-engined, and an older type. That’s the case with South African Airways, which has resumed Johannesburg-Perth service. Flights use the Airbus A340-300, which is far from the obvious choice, economically speaking, compared to the airline’s A330-300s. SAA last served Australia in March 2020. Its Perth resumption follows Qantas ending the route in March 2023.
