As one generation of widebody aircraft makes way for another, it is no secret that the world’s widebody fleets are in a state of transition. However, this trend has rarely manifested itself as clearly as yesterday, when two Lufthansa Group airlines reached different milestones concerning their long-haul aircraft. Specifically, SWISS sent an A340 to retirement while Lufthansa announced its first A350-1000 route.
