Strategic bombers, capable of deploying thermonuclear warheads, are among the deadliest weapons in any military's arsenal. During the height of the Cold War, both the United States and the Soviet Union rushed to build more capable bombers. Though strategic initiatives in bomber design have changed development processes to prioritize stealth over speed, supersonic bombers still remain in service across the globe today.
