United States officials have confirmed that Newark Liberty International Airport’s (EWR) runway 4L/22R has reopened early, with the rehabilitation of the runway being completed almost two weeks ahead of schedule. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) brought in extra crews to ensure that the runway would reopen on or ahead of schedule.
