There has truly been nothing like the COVID-19 pandemic when it comes to the commercial aviation industry. While smaller regional events have halted and changed the nature of commercial aviation in certain regions, the pandemic’s ability to completely shut down commercial air travel all across the globe fundamentally altered the industry as it existed at the time. When an industry reaches a point of crisis, traditional norms are shattered, and airlines will find almost any path forward in order to survive.
