In 2011, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner entered service and set a new standard for widebody, long-haul efficiency. It has now attracted almost 2,000 orders, and Boeing is looking to ramp up production to meet demand. The Boeing 787 is the only widebody aircraft in production frequently referred to by its name “Dreamliner” rather than its number designation (the Boeing 777 is called the 777 and the Airbus A350 is called the A350).
