The VC-25B project, more widely known unofficially as the new Air Force One, is far behind schedule and is costing Boeing a lot of money rather than being a well-paying government contract. US President Donald Trump is eager to get at least one of the two modified 747-8s into service before the end of his term. Helping with this goal will be a recent change in policy, where Boeing and the US Air Force have agreed to reduce the security clearance requirements for those applying to work on the jet.

President Donald Trump had expressed frustration over the delays, but this new delivery schedule would ensure he could use the new aircraft before the end of his term.
