The VC-25B project, more widely known unofficially as the new Air Force One, is far behind schedule and is costing Boeing a lot of money rather than being a well-paying government contract. US President Donald Trump is eager to get at least one of the two modified 747-8s into service before the end of his term. Helping with this goal will be a recent change in policy, where Boeing and the US Air Force have agreed to reduce the security clearance requirements for those applying to work on the jet.
