An United States F-35 fighter jet crashed on Tuesday at Eielson Air Force Base. The aircraft was filmed by bystanders dramatically falling and crashing into the earth where it exploded in a ball of fire. According to Airman 1st Class Spencer Hanson, the pilot was uninjured during the incident. Videos circulating online clearly show what appears to be the pilot parachuting down while the stricken aircraft plummets to the ground. The pilot was taken to a nearby medical facility and was deemed to be in a “safe and stable condition.” The last F-35 crash took place in May 2024, when the pilot also ejected.
