Christmas comes but once a year and with it, so does Santa Claus. Every year Santa takes to the skies from the North Pole flying in his sleigh powered by reindeer. NORAD is tasked with defending the airspace of North America and boasts some of the world’s most advanced tracking technology. As Santa makes his Christmas run, NORAD is there tracking and keeping taps on Father Christmas. As Santa is a friend and guest of the United States and Canada, both countries scramble fighter jets to intercept him and provide him with an escort (sometimes he is escorted by a pair of F-22 Raptors – as is seen in the 2024 movie Red One).
