One of the noblest missions performed by American military personnel in general and US military aviators, in particular, is saving lives. With that in mind, Simple Flying now looks at how the aircrews of the various military services act as flesh-and-blood manifestations of guardian angels via their performance of lifesaving search-and-rescue (SAR) missions, including the particularly hair-raising subcategory of combat search-and-rescue (CSAR).
