“Unfair Advantage”: Is The US F-22 Raptor Just The Answer To Everything In Air Superiority?

Few would argue with the assertion that the F-22 Raptor is the world’s most advanced and lethal air dominance fighter. Most might argue that it continues to enjoy a ridiculous advantage over its other air superiority peers. The jet has the radar cross-section of an insect – even smaller than that of the later F-35 Lightning II (designed for a greater mission set). While the F-22 Raptor may be very difficult to beat, no system is unbeatable (as is shown by Serbia shooting down the stealthy F-117 Nighthawk in 1999 – even if it was a lucky shot).
