In continuing to take the network back to the 1950’s a new time for the Bairnsdale Line starting September 15th 2024 will remove the final locomotive hauled services from the line.
Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards, said the study has been allocated $120,000 and will examine what work needs to be done, what project could cost and what potential impacts are.
According to The Man in Seat 61 train travel website: “Indonesian trains are cheap, comfortable and air-conditioned. They run on narrow-gauge 3′6″ (106-centimetre) tracks, but are fast and usually punctual”.
