Residents of a southeast Melbourne suburb are up in arms after being told of significant disruption for a major government project just days before works begin.
Minister for Transport Infrastructure, Danny Pearson, announced a cost blowout of $837 million today, with the project now expected to cost $15 billion, $4 billion more than the original cost.
Melbourne has been named Australia’s most congested city with Victorians spending an estimated 92 hours a year stuck in traffic according to data released by Novated Lease.
