It’s definitely not a type of incident that is commonly reported. Sure, smoke in the cabin – or the smell of burning is reported every now and then – as is the occasional oven/galley fire. However, water pouring from the ceiling is even more rare.However, that seems to be what happened on a United Airlines flight out of San Francisco. Headed for Tokyo, the crew turned the jet around, diverting back to SFO.
