What was the last commercial US passenger jet to have rear-mounted engines? That question limits the answer to just commercial aircraft and not business jets. Unlike commercial aircraft, modern business jets are often manufactured with rear-mounted engines. The final American passenger jet with that configuration was the Boeing 717. This was a continuation of the Douglas (later McDonnell Douglas) DC-9 family of passenger jets.
