Travelers who utilize chartered jets or even their own business jets can access the same airports as commercial airlines. Even pilots flying their own personal aircraft, such as small single-engine aircraft, have the ability to utilize commercial airports if desired. However, most of the time, chartered planes, business jets, and personal aircraft will take advantage of smaller, under-utilized airports. This is because commercial airports are much busier, may require additional clearances, or have much higher landing and handling fees.
