The pilot of VH-BAQ sustained minor injuries, and a passenger severe injuries, when the light plane crashed on approach to a grass airstrip at a property near Noosa on 12 November.
More than 275 aviators, eight F-35As, a KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport and an E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft have been deployed by the RAAF to Andersen Air Force Base from February 3 to 21.
The mission earlier this month saw a C-27J Spartan from 35 Squadron deploy from RAAF Base Amberley to carry two loads of fuel, totalling 28 drums, from Longreach Airport to the town of Windorah at the request of the Queensland Government.
